Don’t be intimidated by the Latvian Braid, it’s super easy and fun! The cable pattern repeats are easy to memorize and go quickly.

Gauge on #7, so used 7, 6, 5.

A little bummed, I have to frog down to wrist and re-knit. I feel the sizing is a little off, or I have weird hands? Pattern says small fits 6” wrist / 7” palm, medium fits 7” wrist / 8” palm. My wrist is 6” / palm is 8”, so I followed directions for small to wrist then medium from wrist up (at decrease round instead of k1k2tog I did k3k2tog = 40 stitches). The problem is the whole palm portion was way too big (width, length and gusset). Re-knit the palm size small and it was fine, not tight, plenty of stretch left.
