Started on this to try to make it in time for my mom’s birthday at the end of November. If that doesn’t happen then it can be her Xmas gift. Since I’m using bulkier yarn than the suggested Quince and Co. Owl, I shrunk the shawl a bit, so instead of casting-on 381 sts as the pattern suggests, I casted on 261 sts.

I have only attempted to make one shawl previous to this one and it is tiny, so we’ll see how this goes. Something about shawls not being 3D like sweaters…

After over a week of garter stitch for miles I’ve reached the more frequent decreasing rows! I’m at 114 sts now and the shawl us measuring about 15.5 inches from the cast on edge.

Finished knitting, just waiting to be blocked now! I had to scale it down because I found myself running out of yarn and I didn’t want to order anymore. So pre-block the height of the shawl is around 28inches instead of the pattern suggested 30inches.

After blocking, the shawl actually stretched out a bit and is closer to the finished size of the pattern. I also slipped the edges on either side for a cleaner edge, the pattern did not mention this.
