The poem is from e.e. cummings. The patterns are mostly Latvian and Estonian, and the size and gauge are based on an Estonian mitten pattern from Sandy DeMaster and Mary Germain, wonderful knitters and teachers. The colors and the swirly cuff are supposed to evoke the Van Gogh painting, Starry Night. This was very fun to design and knit.
