I finished my test for Anna Johanna, so I took some artistic liberty with this second Xi hat. I modified the first instance of the 2nd round to create eyelets for a ribbon to be threaded through. The ribbon can be changed to suit the outfit. You could also knit an icord to thread through the eyelets. Also, I eliminated the folded brim and shortened the ribbing as follows.

Measurements:

Bottom edge to top = 7.375” high
Ribbing: 1.125” high

Needles used:

Brim - size 3 US
Body - size 4 US
Crown decreases - 3 US (to fit a child)

To create the eyelets for ribbon, I substituted the following for the first instance of round #2:

P3, YO3, K2tog, K2, P5, K2, SSK, YO3, P2 … Repeat 4 - 5 more times.

In Round #3, I dropped 2 of the 3 yarnovers (all instances), and counted that as one loose stitch to be worked per Round 3 pattern instructions.

Weight of finished hat = 1.3 oz
Aloft used - .575 oz
Phildar Phil Folk 50 used - .725 oz
