Since I started this project, I knitted one entire sleeve, thought better of if and frogged the whole deal.
Why? I didn’t like the way the sleeve felt once seamed up halfway (that’s me being impatient), I wanted something a bit more loose fitting and since sewing up seams is my personal nightmare, I wanted to attempt knitting the sleeve in the round.

The project was put on hold for a few weeks and then I started again when I was on my way back to Belgium (vacation). Due to leaving the pattern description at home (I left it on my desk where it waited to be put in my bag), I started knitting the sleeve again from memory.
I’ve put on my stitches on 4 double pointed needles with a smaller gauge than the rest of the sleeve needed. I knitted the rounds to form the cuff and then switched to a round needle with the right gauge, following the pattern as it was described.

Right now I’m knitting the body, I do not intend to knit the entire ruffle as the pattern indicates. Instead I chose for another type of edge, which I’ll show you as soon as the body has progressed enough.

And did I mention that it’s too hot in Nantes right now to knit wool?

I finished the shrug yesterday afternoon and have been wearing it since. I am adoring the feel of the yarn and loosely knitted sleeves. It’s real cosy and warm. I should take it off and treasure it since it’s going to be a part of my Christmas outfit, but… It’s really too nice to take off.
