DH complained that all my winter sweaters were drab colors, so ….. when I saw this yarn in wool I knew he would love it and it would brighten any drab winter day just to put it on.
Want to work with short-row color intrusions. Starting with a sleeve swatch and it looks promising although a bit reminiscent of a lava lamp, but that is warm, so it’s all good.
This will make good knitting in the dark until it gets too big and heavy to take along.
Aug 30 - Can’t believe how fast knitting goes on a size 9 needle. First sleeve is done and I am working on the intrusions at the left hip. The colors are really working well. It is on the wooden lady for evaluation at the moment. Will try to get pics if we get home before dark. Intrusions really give a nice flattering shape.
Sept 11 - To neck opening and have separated for front and back. Will work back first then front(s).
Sept 15 - Finished Short-Row intrusions for center back. Cast on for Left front
October 27 - Finished second sleeve with short-row insert. May have to adjust insert as this sleeve feels larger than first. Will reserve judgement until I can put it on in front of a mirrow. Just have the front flaps to work out. Hubby likes the shaping at the hips, and the back, not the first sleeve so much…..
October 31 DONE!! Just have to seam and run in ends, pick the buttons, but no more knitting. Will get pics up soon.
