Notes

CO 100 (adjusted spacing of rivets) on size 8 needles (16” circular). Gauge in the round 4.5 stitches per inch. Finished circumference at brim is 29”.

So much for getting this done in time for Christmas, but there is still plenty of wintertime left where it’s going. Easy, fun pattern. Hated having to seam the horns, and attaching them was messy as well, though it looks fine and should hold up. Did as best I could with Sars variation on the horns (leaving out the contrasting gold band), and ran the cast off tail down through the tip, drawing it TIGHT to give the horns a fun little curl. Stuffed them with polyfil after seaming.

Next time, I will for sure go down a needle size for the horns to get a tighter gauge. The polyfill does show through the fabric of the horns if you look VERY close.

The cap itself was so easy, and the rivets were fun -- my first time doing bobbles.

This is for my nephew, but now my husband and sons all want one too, so I guess that says it all!
