Notes

This was a fun pattern to knit. It turned out very differently from my first lace project (Diamond Lace Shawl), I think primarily because of the pale color and fuzziness of the yarn. This shawl appears much more delicate than the other.

I started off trying to use stitch markers, but after just a couple of rows yarnovers started switching sides (how can one really tell which side of the marker a yarnover is really on?) and messed me up more than if the markers just weren’t there. So I gave up on the stitch markers.

I made one error on the pattern (missed one stitch in a double-decrease so it was essentially “knit 2 together, drop 1”) and didn’t notice until the shawl was finished. It left a gaping hole in the lace, but I was able to pick up the stitches from their initial yarnover and tie the top stitch back into its decrease. I can tell where the fix is (because of weaving in the ends), but I doubt anyone else will notice.
