Took apart all the edgings from this thrifted hand-knit cardigan, and knitted on new edgings, plus pockets and a hood, in a heavier weight recycled yarn. (blog post with details is here!)

I’m thinking about someday writing a book/collection thing of patterns for this kind of thing - something like, a collection of different patterns for different parts, to add onto old sweaters, which you can mix and match as you like. Eg: patterns for different kinds of pockets, collars, hoods, cuffs, etc, with full tutorials on how to deconstruct the old sweater and add the new parts. This is an idea I’ve been toying with for awhile, but I don’t know if there would be any interest.
