I really like the two colours together!

Pattern story:
My Mormor (mom’s mom) taught me to knit when I was a small child. She was always knitting, and she was always making baby helmets for any newborns she was even remotely connected to (she also made a red batwing sleeved sweater for me when I was about 10 - I loved it so much!).

Mormor didn’t use a pattern for these helmets, but she had a scrap of paper where she had put down directions such as “cast on as many stitches as it takes to reach round the head - it’s enough because of the stretch in the yarn. If using (brand of yarn) remember it doesn’t stretch much. Place decreases over ears” etc. And then she had put down special things about special brands of yarn.

I sort of followed her “directions” and came up with this little helmet hat - and now I’m trying to make it into a pattern…
