I made this hat per pattern instructions and recommended needles, but I came out very, very large. I should have know from the pictures that it would be larger than I’d like.

I ended up remaking the hat, sizing down two needle sizes and eliminating the lace pattern, not sure how I feel lace in a winter hat.

I knit the brim with size 4 needles for 2 inches. Changed to size 6 needles, and worked the repeat 4 times. I changed the lace pattern to purl stitches.

I’m really pleased with how it came out. It fits snuggly with just the right amount of slouch.

Finished hat measures 9 inches across at brim and 9 inches in length from crown to bottom edge.
