I am always hesitant to take on felting projects, because of the unpredictability of the outcome. But every time I bite my lip and give it a try, it ends up being OK. This was no different.

My friend Jessica asked me if I could make a Tam like the one from Outlander for her birthday. After looking at as many screen shots as I could find, it was clear felting would be the only way to get the right look.

This patter was very easy to follow. I read some other comments that the smaller sizes were felting down a bit too small, so I decided to go for the extra large. It came out a great size. After felting it is 13.25” across.
