I’m starting this for the Sunshine Yanies April KAL. I hope to complete this by the end of the month!

I’m excited to use the wonderful Sunshine Yarns in a project other than the sock yarn blanket. This will be my first lace project, I’m a little nervous but I think I chose a good project for a beginner.

04.18.09 : This project is going very well. I’ve set down my other projects to give more time to this one in hopes of finishing before the KAL deadline. I’ve memorized the pattern so things are going much quicker than they did in the beginning. I’m currently at 71 repeats, which is more than the pattern calls for, but I wanted it longer. My plan is to see where I’m at with 105 repeats and decide if I like the length.

04.27.09 : I just bound off! I used size 8 needles to bind off with and I think it turned out well. I ended up doing 100 repeats and am left with just over 18g which I will happily add to my sock yarn blanket and share with others. I definitely will need to block this puppy but it will have to wait until at least Wednesday.

Unblocked dimensions: 8” x 50”

I’m so proud of myself for finishing in time for the KAL and for successfully knitting my first lace project!

04.29.09 : All done and blocked! Blocking didn’t go as smoothly as I would have hoped, I think I’ll invest in some blocking wires as I plan on doing more lace projects in the future.
