Notes

I’ve got some leftover handspun that I think will make nice toddler size hats for future baby gifts. Here is my new favorite pattern to knit these hats, which I’ll be following:

  • CO 72 sts using US 4s
  • Knit approx 1 inch of 2x2 ribbing
  • Switch to US 6s and k6, p2 ribbing until 5.5 inches from CO edge
  • Continuing to knit the knits and purl the purls, decrease every other row, alternating ssk and k2tog along opposite edges of each stockinette panel so that the p2 columns remain intact
  • Once there are only purl stitches left, p2tog until there are 6 to 9 sts left, and sew remaining sts together and weave in ends

I’m calling this the “Citrus Hat” pattern and plan to type it up and share it on Ravelry.
