Notes

I originally thought I had enough Allegro in stash to make a pair of knee high Kalajokis but I was wrong.

Hopefully I’ve now got enough Patonyle 8ply to make knee highs…

July Update: There was more than enough Patonyle to make a longer version, which pleases me greatly.

To make them knee socks, I made the following modifications to the pattern:

  • Cast on 74 stitches (Based on maskerade’s Kalajokis) instead of 54.
  • Knit a 14 row cuff instead of a 10 row cuff.
  • After the cuff, decreased two stitches every 5 rows 10 times (54 stitches remained).
  • Knit around 2.5 repeats before turning the heel.

I really enjoyed this pattern, even though I had a lot of trouble memorising the ‘river’ section. I had to rely heavily on my row counter to keep track of where I was in the pattern which is a bit worrisome.

Unfortunately, they are too thick to fit into my everyday boots, but I may have another pair of boots that might go well with them…
