some mods:

• I had to refigure the numbers of the pattern because I wanted to knit an in-between size.
• I also added some length to the body before shaping and to the sleeves - about 2 inches to each. I’m 5’9” and have a long torso and long arms - most people probably wouldn’t have to modify this.
• I added waist shaping to follow my actual measurements - I didn’t think that a pullover without waist shaping would look good on me - I just look too top-heavy
• I knit the body in the round but the sleeves flat with two extra stitches for the sleeve seams (no logical reason for that; I just couldn’t find DPNs in the right size and I don’t enjoy magic loop or knitting in the round with two circulars)
• I knit the collar in the round and began picking up stitches at the top of the neck, rather than the bottom of the v
• I reversed the slants of the decreases from the ones specified in the pattern on the neckline and sleevecaps to follow the line of the knitted piece.
• Finally, like many other folks in Ravelry, I omitted the line of decreases/increases across the bust. I liked the smoother look of the projects that had just left those out, plus the cable stands out nicely on its own (and draws enough attention to the bust on its own, frankly) without them.

The yarn is wonderful! So far I’ve just warn the sweater over camisoles and it is soft next to my bare skin and not itchy at all! This sweater is very warm and cozy since it’s knit in alpaca, but the Inca Alpaca is slightly loose and open at this gauge so it doesn’t feel heavy or overly warm. I also think that this neckline is a good fit for an alpaca pullover since it’s so open; on very cold days I’ll wear layers underneath to cover up more.
