This pattern is really enjoyable knitting. This is the small version, but it’s a generous size with lots of versatility. So, so comfortable to wear. It’s light and squishy with all that garter stitch. I get easily annoyed with scarves/cowls/shawls that don’t sit nicely when worn because I tend to be busy during the day. No such issues with the Sea Dragon Shawl.

You might think that there would be a lot of ends to weave in (and that might put you off?). If using a single Main Colour, the only MC ends to weave in are at the beginning and the end. I found it quite easy to weave in the Contrast Colour ends as I went, so there was minimal finishing. And it’s the easiest shawl I’ve ever blocked. The shaping of the design means it curves in a gentle crescent, and the only parts I pinned were the points of the CC spines.

The yarn from Augustbird was just delightful to work with. And it happened to tie in very well with some leftover tosh merino light I had.

The rolled stockinette top edging makes for a polished finish which feels lovely to wear.
