Very loosely based on this pattern. I knit the 6-12 month size on smaller needles.

I altered the crown as follows:

  • Round 1: k6, k2tog; rep around (56 sts)
  • Round 2: knit around
  • Round 3: k2, k2tog; rep around (42 sts)
  • Round 4: knit around
  • Round 5: k1, k2tog; rep around (28 sts)
  • Round 6: knit around
  • Round 7: k2tog around (14 sts)
  • Round 8: knit around
  • Round 9: k2tog around (7 sts)
  • Break off yarn and thread tail through remaining stitches

To match the kimono for a friend from work.
