Notes

She wants short sleeves - like the inspirational photo provided. I should probably accommodate wider sleeves than the pattern provide - at least one size up.

I’ll knit size 41”, but follow the armscye depth for a size up.

I prefer yarn over short rows instead of wrap-and-turn:

Slipped selvedge:

This yarn relaxes quite a lot. I’d wish for some more twist to it, but this is what it is.

February:
Knitting the back per size 41” but to the depth of 6” (15cm) measured by the edge of the garment.

09.02.2025:
Joined in the round. Plan to knit the shorter size, to 10.5” (26,5cm).

Added 10 stitches under each sleeve.
236 in total.

06.04.2025:
Arm cycle depth: 6”/15,5cm (size 45)
Length; arm cycle and down: 10.6”/27cm atm.

Will knit sleeves now. Plan to pick up 72 on each sleeve (NB 72 is wrong, the number should be divisible by 10!) to meet the repeats of the lace pattern, add looseness, and since my knitting tightens up on a smaller circumference.

NB: one repeat of lace trim will add 6cm. Plan the sleeves to end with one lace repeat and at just elbow length, like the inspirational picture.

07.09.2025:
Started the lace on the sleeves. The project has been in hiatus since I’ve been unsure of the size. I believe it will come out well.

I fudged away the 2 surplus stiches on each sleeve in the center of the first and last lace repeat by at tog and a ssk. This won’t be visible.

14.09.2025:
Finished lace row 1-22 on the sleeves. Casting off. Used standard bind off in pattern.

21.09.2025:
Test blocking before bottom lace. The body may be too long already for the shorter length.

01.10.2025:
She have tried it on, and it fits well. I’ll begin knitting the lace.

21.10.2025:
Cast off the lace and knit the neckline trim. Added a couple of stitches to keep it loose. That worked. Cast off using bind off in pattern. Now I need to block it and make a note of care.

Blocked it seem perfect. The bottom lace hits at the middle age tummy area and the sleeve lace just below the elbow.

It’s smashing on her. Now, if only I could manage to fit to myself so well.
