Notes

Overall
I would not have been able to knit up this beautiful garment without the Knitamus application. I was able to enter all the instructions for each row, especially for the fronts. The app lets you combine both arm and neck decreases in the instructions. I did that for the left front, then I was able to duplicate the right front by creating a copy of the instructions and adjusting the decrease points.

Cast on for my swatch on the 13th. Washed and dried overnight. Due to the resulting measurements after washing, I cast on 3 sizes smaller.

Started the 1st sleeve on the 14th and finished on the 16th due to having to frog back 10 or so rows back from purling 2 end stitches together accidentally. Thanks to using lifelines, the 2nd sleeve was started on the 16th and finished on the 17th (today).

Weight of both sleeves = 115g.

For both fronts, I cast on and used lifelines the same way I did the sleeves. My “knitting mom” advised me on ways to prevent the dreaded side-carrying bulkiness. And it looks like I chose the same tactic Dayana wrote on hers.

I’m glad I knitted the sleeves first in order to double check my row gauge. I have a tendency to knit loosely, and was able to use that as an advantage for the sleeves. I then was able to adjust the row counts in the fronts. The photo with both fronts shows the unblocked left front with the blocked right.

November 30th, 2015:
Turned in for Flying November Fall 2015 term homework.

I finished the back the other day. It took longer because my hands were acting up. Tonight I blocked it after coming home from a car accident. I had this urge to do something knitterly but didn’t want to pick up the needles. I hope to seam it in the morning/afternoon after I review Amy Herzog’s video tutorial.

After much internal debate in my head, I decided to go ahead and sew the buttons without ribbon or another button as support. My reasoning is because I plan on making another Options Cardigan but in a non-Superwash yarn.
