My second attempt at an Outfit-Along submission! (The sewing component of OAL2016 never materialized, though I did end up with a snazzy red pullover.)

This year was decidedly more successful. I’ve moved to a warmer climate, so a simple shorts-and-tee combo seemed the practical route to go. Overall, I’m very happy with both pieces - emphasis on those elastic-waistband-and-pockets shorts, aka the holy grail of shorts, as far as I’m concerned.

Notes:

• This yarn is a thick-and-thin which caused my initial attempt at ribbing to look a mite sloppy. Frogged and reknit in twisted rib, which tidied things up a bit.
• Decreased ribbed hem to 2” (versus 4”) and knit a few additional inches of stockinette to lengthen things.
• Shortened the lace portion at the top of the sweater. The last lacy-top knit that I completed (Waterlily) dipped a bit too low, showing a bit too much of my undershirt. I wanted to avoid that issue with that one.
• I didn’t like the addition of ribbing around the neckline (largely due to this thick-and-thin yarn), so frogged back and knit entirely in the lace pattern.

Epilogue: Frogged the pullover in Dec 2017, as I wasn’t really feeling its boxy/cropped shape. I wore the hell out of those shorts all Summer, though. Used approximate 1.75 skeins of the red and 0.5 skeins of the sand; reset back to zero after frogging.
