This shawl is perfect for winter, very warm and cozy. It was an enjoyable and quick knit…loved the cable along the edge. And…the pattern is free!

The back side of the shawl is visible in the third picture. I like the look of the braid on both sides. I actually did a small fingering weight sample before starting the project just to see the back side and the test the cable pattern.

The finished and blocked shawl measured 18” deep and 71” long.

I used stash yarn for this project. If I were to knit this again, I would not use a superwash wool ( just a personal preference) and try to find a lighter, airier weight bulky yarn. The cascade 128 is a bit heavy and very warm.

The videos provided by Drops confused me at first because the purl stitch was done using the Norwegian method. I panicked wondering what new stitch this was until I read the comments. Very interesting to watch!
