Notes

A Hippie dress to celebrate the 60’s…..complete with a peace poncho, beaded daisy necklace and headband.

What the Flock Hand Dyed yarn in Neon Rainbow was a perfect choice for this project. It is a beautiful yarn with great bounce and stitch definition. A joy to knit with!

I used a cast on of 96 stitches and followed my usual dress modifications found here I followed the chart on the left using 12 repeats of the 8 stitch pattern pictured.

I made some modifications to the poncho so it would fit a small bunny. I used fingering weight yarn, 2.5mm double pointed needles and cast on 36 stitches, knitting back and forth for the first six rows to leave a bigger opening for the bunny’s head. ( I attached a button and loop on the back to close it.) I knit until the poncho measured only 1 1/2 inches on the sleeve edge. For the border, I knit two rows of garter stitch and did a purl bind off. I attached fringe with a crochet hook on every other stitch of the the bind off. I crocheted the peace sign onto the finished poncho.

The daisy chain was great fun. I used a tutorial found here

The bunny was knit with Sublime extra Fine merino dk in caramel on 2.75 needles.

Peace out!!!
