Notes

First entrelac project. I had quite a debate with myself over which needle size to use! The pattern calls for 6.5 mm needles but assumes much heavier yarn. The yarn I have wants 4.0 mm, but I wasn’t getting the right gauge. After experimenting with 5.0 mm and even 5.5 mm I decided to stick with the 4.0 mm needles and damn the torpedoes, full speed ahead!

Digging it so far.

DONE!!! Wove in ends today.

I have not been working continuously on this since the summer, but a stole this long definitely took time.

Stats

  • Final measurements after washing: 2.28 m long by 36 cm wide
  • Time: It took me about 7 min per block, with 72 tiers, meaning I spent about 68 hours all told on this! I am not the most attentive knitter (I usually knit while watching TV or socializing), so this is probably pretty slow. Still. Not too shabby.

This was a fantastic project because entrelac made it so easy to tell where I was and to fix mistakes without having to frog hundreds of stitches. 10/10 would knit again, but maybe something narrower, like a 3-block scarf. :D
