My mother had made a passing comment late last summer or early fall that she wished she had a white shawl or sweater to wear in church since they keep the A/C so cold, thus the white. I knew that anything I made for her would have to be literally wash-and-wear or she would be afraid to actually use it, thus the acrylic. I probably should have gone up another needle size or two. I would have liked for it to be a little bigger. (I could have added a chart repeat or two, but then I wouldn’t have gotten it done in time for Mom’s birthday.) Despite what feels like a really inappropriate choice of yarn, I’m pleased with how it turned out.
