Unfortunately, the yarn for this doesn’t appear to be in Rav - I need to enter it at some point, I guess.

It’s called “Selkie Mist” and is a hand-dyed BFL/Silk blend that I picked up on a trip to AZ.

I’m using 5/0 Myuki triangle beads - I have over 1,000 of them and 875 yards of laceweight.

So we’ll see how far I can get with it! :D

The pattern seems to be charted nicely, with what seems to be a couple of mistakes so far. Sometimes the pattern calls for a M1 by the centre stitch, then the next knit row, calls for another increase…but that would leave one stitch unaccounted for.

When that happens, I’m just ignoring the second increase, and so far the charts are working out. I’m using markers every repeat, which means there’s a fair amount of shifting them between repeats, but that’s still easier than miscounting.

This pattern does use an unusual 2-out-of-3 decrease I’ve never seen before, and I like the result.

I’m using a US 7 Cubic needle, which gives me gauge like I’d get on a US 5 or 6 in a round needle. I like the fabric so far, and I won’t have to block as aggressively with a more open fabric.

At 3 repeats, unblocked but mildly stretched, I’m at 26 inches wide by 6.5 inches tall.
Since the border doesn’t appear to add a lot of wingspan, and since I’ve only used 8 grams of yarn, I’m definitely going for more body repeats.

I suspect I will run out of beads; however, I’m not opposed to changing the border beading. So we shall see; it’s an adventure!

Finally got this off the needles - it had a long hiatus while I bid on beads on ebay and then waited for them to come in.
(Because as much as I’d love to just order and have things shipped…paying bills comes before satisfying hobby urges! But being frugal introduced me to several very affordable suppliers, so it worked out.)

I don’t have great pics yet, as it came off the needles, was blocked, and entered into the local fair all in the same 12 hour time span.
