Slip Stitch Collection / Coat Collection

Blog post #1 here and blog post #2 here.
Maybe, I should call this Blue Skies Trench, however I do think it looks trendy. It is exactly what I set out to make. Blog post attached at tab on top!

Look closely and you will see the fabric is not woven even though it looks it. Instead it is 1/2 linen stitch which is done using slip stitches. It feels like wool but it is 100% acrylic therefore is wonderfully light in weight, and it is styled like a trench coat meant for cool, April days. It is fabulous (I think) with today’s shapes underneath and also with dresses. I just love it. Oh, and by the way … total cost $20.00, machine washable.

My thinking is a trendy trench might be very lovely with this Sundance dress. I have the same dress in black.

Interesting stitch, the pattern has caught my attention. And, yes, I am using 100% acrylic. Yikes!!! Why, you might ask?

  • delightfully lightweight
  • experimental project
  • inexpensive
  • curious
  • machine washable
  • not bad looking … oh, dear, what is happening to me?

I’m weirdly excited about this project!
