FREE pattern!

A former colleague called me for crochet lessons. Yikes, I thought. I haven’t crocheted in some 40 years! She wanted to make this scarf. I grabbed some remnants from my stash and made one to check out the skills needed.

The pattern calls for bulky weight, I used worsted creating a lightweight and stretchy fabric. Too stretchy for my happiness so I added a picot edging all the way around. The edging firmed up the sides and added a delicacy that I felt matched the stitch pattern. Much improved.

Now, I feel prepared to give my friend lessons and I have a pretty scarf for cool summer evenings.
