The pattern calls for size 8/0 beads, but I had bucket fulls of size 6/0, so I used those instead. I was able to get a 1.4mm crochet hook though the beads.

Sept 10th 2012 - yes these ARE still in progress. I’ve just got a little bit of the foot and then toes to do on both. I will finish these lovelies some day, but I’m not sure if it will be this year. >.<

Oct 26th - they are still waiting. I’m working on baby blankets at the moment, so who knows when they’ll finally get some toes. I bet I love wearing them next spring!

Feb 27th - I’ve been working on these again, and I’d like to finish by the weekend since I’m expecting yarn for a new project on Monday. I’m not getting much time to work on them though.

Also, I should note that I modified the pattern and did not do the foot as written. Since I was already out of the competition I ended the lace pattern earlier than she called for so that I would just have plain Stst for most of the instep.
