i made two triangles and stitched together for the front, then used the chain rows on the front as the chain rows for the back triangles (just attached r1 for the left back to the r1 of the right front), and then made two triangles for the back and connected with a row. the next round connected front and back, and i did the body in joined rounds, 98 stitches front and back = 196 stitches around. will make it again this way.

three rows of hdc around the neckline and armholes (r2 and 3 were in the back loop for ‘camel’ stitch, and knit look.

seven rows of dc for ribbing - r1 (RS) dc across, r2 (WS) - 2 dc, 2 bpdc, 2 fpdc across, 2 dc in last 2 dc. one side (back) was 98 stitches across; second side shared stitch 1 and 98, and is 100 stitches across.
