I LOVE how this turned out! It’s so pretty and it fits me perfectly. And Smoke is such a fantastic yarn for sweaters.

Had planned to add a bit of colourwork to the sleeves but it just looked busy so made them plain like the pattern instead.

3.5mm needles for plain stockinet and hem ribbing, 3.75 for yoke colourwork, and 3.25 for neck ribbing.

Mods

• using German shortrows (double stitch),
• don’t want EOR at mid-back so moved it forward 18 st to back of right shoulder before starting colourwork,
• started ladder stitch on r 45, knitted it instead of purled,
• wanted an even number of st under the sleeves so cast on 8 instead of seven (used provisional cast on) = 254 st, started ribbing at 34 cm without changing to smaller needles, knit rib 7 r,
• moved EOR to under right sleeve,
• my hips are wider than my bust so Increased 2 st in each side every 14th r four times = 270 st,
• sleeves decreased 2 st on first r then every 10th r 5 times and every 5th r 16 times = 48 st, started ribbing immediately after last decrease without changing to smaller needles, knit ribbing 7 r,
• knit 4 r neck ribbing.

Timeline
2018-04-24: Finished yoke pattern and started on shortrows/raglan increases.
2018-04-26: Separated body and sleeves.
2018-05-08: Taking a break from this to knit a summer top.
2018-05-31: Finished with the summer top so started this again. Started on the right sleeve.
2018-06-01: Finished right sleeve and started left.
2018-06-03: Finished left sleeve and started on neck ribbing.
2018-06-04: Finished neck ribbing and started on body again.
2018-06-05: Finished!!
