Notes

My sister came back from her travels in Tibet and brought me this yarn. I struggled for a long time trying to figure out what to do with it, then found this pattern. I’ve never done fair isle before, and used this pattern to learn. I’m really pleased with how it turned out, and am giving it to my sister for her next Himalayan adventure.

The yarn is labeled medium-weight, but it’s fairly irregular hand-spun yarn and some parts of it are really bulky. I used it for the lining as well, so the finished hat is ridiculously thick. I love it anyway; it’ll be the warmest hat on Earth.

I reduced the number of cast on stitches by 20 to get the correct gauge with this thicker yarn.
