Love. It.
This finished up so nicely, and it really didn’t take that long. It’s about 60 inches in diameter, and I didn’t even come close to using up all the yarn.
I wasn’t sure how I was going to block this, and it really needed a good blocking. Floor space is at a premium in my house and, beyond that, the cats are notorious for attacking things as they’re drying on the blocking wires.
Ultimately, I went for steam, and attacked it with my iron for a good hour (Simon was very helpful). It worked perfectly. Not the hardest block ever, but enough to even everything out, get it lying flat and true and make those stitches pop! This was my first steam-block ever, and I’ll be using it more in the future, I think.
Yay first FO of 2011! The stashdown continues!!
Oof…ya’ll weren’t kidding about that edging…that takes some time, huh? Couple hundred more live stitches to go…
Into my first repeat of Chart G. I’ve made a couple small mistakes in there, but they’re almost invisible even to me. So, it’s still very smooth sailing.
While the piece is quite large, the pattern itself is pretty simple. I’m totally in love with it. It’s squishy and warm and pretty and bright (far brighter than my washed-out pics) and happy. So fabulous.
I’m finishing up my fifth skein, almost ready to start the sixth. By this rate, I should have more than enough to finish. Score!
I’ve made it through the slog that was Chart D and am now working on my first repeat of Chart E. I’ve got 640 stitches crammed on my 40-inch US 10 Addi, and I’m having trouble putting it down!
Still smooth sailing. Its a lovely, inutitive pattern, and it looks so bright and happy in this colorway.
Finally casting on! Woot! Almost through Chart B and so far it’s smooth sailing. Pattern was Rav gifted to me by the ever-fabulous kaydgirl.
