there are a couple of errors in the pattern:
Left Front Lower Loop:(should read something like this)
Rep row 3 as for upper loop.
rows 1-18: should read: with RS facing, begin with Row 4, rep Rows as for upper loop ending with WS Row 1.

Basically you need to be sure to do the 4 row repeat on the lower loop as you do on the upper loop or you won’t get the little cables. Ask me how I know! The way the pattern reads if you just repeat rows 3 & 4 you will not get the cable pattern.

The other problem with the pattern is at the very end. It doesn’t tell you how to combine the left front loops made with the right front loops before the bind off. If you don’t loop them through before binding off it won’t look like the picture clearly shows on page 81. That probably doesn’t make any sense but if you make the pattern you’ll see what I mean!

I pm’d the designer about my questions and was not impressed with the response. Basically, her response was “yeah, you need to have the cables repeat. yeah, the ends are supposed to be looped through before you bind off.” No effort to correct or apology. Oh well.

I made several modifications to the pattern. I started making the small/medium size. Then decided the give it to L so after having her try it on, I needed to expand the back some. So, I did 10 repeats of rows 25-40 on the back instead of the 9 called for. Also on the back where it reads: Rows 193-216: Rep rows 1-24 (which is really repeating rows 1-8 three times) I repeated rows 1-8 four times. This gave me a total of 24 extra rows above the number called for in the small size.

I think it turned out good and it was a fun knit overall.
