Notes

First time steeking! Seems to be holding up okay, so I guess I did it right.

Used almost all the black and red in the kit. But then I did solid black ribbing instead of stripes. I had a fair bit of most of the other colors left over, maybe a third of a skein for most of them.

NB: The sizing on this runs HUGE. Like 8-10 inches of ease.

I didn’t want quite that much ease, so I got my gauge and the size I wanted and found the size closest to what I wanted. The number of stitches I had was one of the smallest in the pattern, but I definitely don’t wear a small. I also did a much smaller flair on the sleeves - the needles sizes in the pattern went up by 1.5 mm and the number of stitches increased by almost 30%. That large a difference made the sleeves “blouse” out. I didn’t like it that way, so I reduced the number of stitches I increased to about 8 on each sleeve, then I increased every eighth row instead of every fourth row as suggested.

I did a garter stitch striped button band instead of ribbing.
