Last summer, I asked Cat to scan her handprint. This is an experiment to see if I can mash-up some of my favorite glove-construction techniques to make custom gloves which match her Bigger on the Inside shawl.

CO 52. 26 rows ribbing.
3 rounds plain.
Blade inc in middle of next rnd.
Thumb gussets = 18 (every 3rd round, inc 2)

Project paused while I got yarn of correct colorway and tinkered with pattern.
CO 60. 32 rows ribbing.
6 rounds plain.
Blade inc to 62. Another 4 rounds plain.
Thumb gussets = 16(2 inc every 3rd rnd x 8).
Prepare thumb sts. Work hand another 12 rnds to pinky notch, decreasing 5 sts in upper thumb gusset.

Thought I made a mistake with the pinky attachment and ended up with too many stitches. There seemed to be enough stitches for an extra finger! Started tinking, and just before I got to the point of no return, I realized there should be six extra stitches -- they now belong to the ring finger.
I forged ahead and completed the glove.

Finished. I think the lower pinky placement looks better than the short rows I worked on MGM-Pam, and I’m pleased with the advancement in hole-closing techniques.
