each flower rpt = approx 7cm
edging = approx 12cm

7 rpts, 61cm
8 rpts, 68cm
need 27 sts for edgings in addition to flower rpts. But make edgings wider for a wider stole?

25 apr 23 - cast on 143 (18 border + 6 rpts + 17 border) on 2.75mm needle. worked 6 rows ribbing and 3 and a bit of pattern.

3 may - blocked motif is 7cm, edging is 6cm either side. 6rpts, which is what i had planned, would be about 54cm wide. my oilily stole is 57cm. maybe 6 rpts plus another column of corrugated rib and a another column of eyelets?
2 may - great fun knitting this swatch. haven’t blocked it yet and am unsure about the reverse stranding welts. will see whether they flatten down after blocking. unblocked, i feel that they (literally) overshadow the margins of the flowers.
28 apr - CO 44 sts, knit 4 rows of ribbing, 3 rows reverse stranding. working upper part of chart first bc i wanted a centred flower, so flower in MC, worked rows 23 to 30 (and row 4 inadvertently). unblocked, flower measures about 6.5cm wide. would i really want it to block out by 1cm? i don’t think so. will have to see what sort of fabric this swatch creates once blocked.

27 apr 14 - am planning my swatch. am going to make stole wider and don’t like the half flower at only one end of the row, so will do extra half rpt to make the row symmetrical. swatch - CO 44, 1x1 ribbing for a few rows, then start stranding
