Notes

I knit the majority of it (from the transition chart on) between 4/29 and 5/6 after deciding I wanted to wear it to MDS&W. I did get to wear it unblocked after finishing it sitting with some friends on the hill. AND I got to show Amy of Knitty which was way cool.
Those last beading rows, 43 especially, were insane and I had to run and get more beads with 10 rows left. I’m glad that I did them though. It’s stunning!
The nupps were giving me trouble until I decided to knit them with a US 10.5 needle. After that, it was very easy to purl them. The only issue I had with them is that either the nupp would try to eat the stitches on either side or a wrap or two would escape. After a while I kept an eye out for that and made sure it was right for the next knit row.

5/7/2011 - Finished binding off while sitting on a hill with some folks at MDS&W. I promptly went over to the booth that Amy of Knitty was at the festival and showed off. Just need to block it now. I can’t wait to see the magic!

5/4/2011 - 12 rows left now. I had a few slow going rows. However, I’m knitting the nupps with a US10.5 needle now and they’re so much easier to purl on the way back.

5/3/2011 - 17 rows left (i.e. final chart)

5/2/2011 - Skipped band tonight to knit. I’ve got 36 rows left now. Knit night tomorrow.

5/1/2011 - I’m on the Edge setup chart. If I can stop making silly mistakes, I can totally get this done by Thursday.

4/29/2011 - Been working on this here and there since February and am up to the nupps on the transition chart from the yucca section. Debating finishing this for MDS&W next weekend. That would leave 6 days for me to get it off the needles and blocking.

2/10/2011 - I tried to pick this up again last night for a bit to work on something different for a little while. NOTE TO SELF: Remember the 2sts for the edge on both sides AND the repeat is in the square on the chart. I started knitting and got through a repeat before realizing something was wrong. I read the pattern, tinked (tanked, tunk) what I knit and put it away for another little bit. Really I didn’t put it down for any particular reason last time. This time is a different story.

6/13/2010 - Restarted the other day and have now completed 4 repeats of the Yucca chart. Time to move on to the transition chart tomorrow.

6/10/2010 - Started the other night using size 10/0, very unpleasant. I bought size 8/0 same color yesterday and they’re so much easier to slip on my stitches. Of course now I think that the fabric might be too open. I may need to frog and start over on a US 4.
