Knitting: Cowl
A top-down bandana-style cowl knit entirely in the round, with added shawl-like shaping to create a point at the centre front. The simple bands of texture are used to showcase a slow and subtle gradient. Classic textures found in Guernsey sweater patterns make for a fun and quick knit that you’ll want to have in several colours!
Knitting: Shawl / Wrap
An asymmetrical boomerang shaped shawl, designed to play with the colours of a short run variegated yarn. Using many textures that involve slipping or passing stitches over, this pattern is a fun and quick knit that plays with the arrangement of all the bright colours.
Knitting: Shawl / Wrap, Scarf
A triangular scarf, knit from the top left corner and worked diagonally to the lower right edge. A simple combination of knit and purl stitches mimics plaid knit on the bias, making for a unique and genderless accessory that’s easy enough for a beginner to knit, and mindless knitting for a more seasoned knitter. As the colour fades out in the g...
Knitting: Shawl / Wrap
A triangular shawl started at one corner and worked diagonally to the lower edge. The combination of mosaic knitting and brioche stripes was inspired by a summer spent in Toronto’s High Park, amongst the lush natural scenery. It was knit surrounded by birds, ducks, chipmunks and squirrels.
Knitting: Shawl / Wrap
Route des Vignes (Vineyard Pathway) is an asymmetrical crescent shaped shawl that uses stitch patterns and short rows to take advantage of two mini-skein gradient kits. The project is worked top-down and flat, with ever increasing rows.
Knitting: Beanie, Toque, Fingerless Gloves
When I first discovered Rustic Heather Sport by Lichen and Lace, I fell in love with the soft and fuzzy texture. I couldn’t quite find the right pattern for my hands at the denser gauge I typically like in a mitten, so I turned to my library of stitch patterns and made one up. Of course I needed a matching hat, and so this set was created.
Knitting: Shawl / Wrap
This triangular shawl features bands of interesting textures and a unique construction. The shawl is started from the top center and worked diagonally for the right half. Stitches are then picked up to be worked sideways, creating the left half of the shawl, causing the bands of texture to appear at a different angle.
Knitting: Shawl / Wrap
Sometimes a mistake can turn into a beautiful thing. This shawl was the result of attempting to pair Sequence Knitting techniques with a lace pattern. What started out as a mistake in counting, turned into an interesting and complex fabric that is light as a feather.
Knitting: Shawl / Wrap
A triangular shawl started at one corner and worked diagonally to the lower lace edge. The elongated stitches created by knitting into previous rows, form clusters that break up a variegated yarn, creating the illusion of Quebec’s “Fleur-de-lis” provincial flower.
Knitting: Shawl / Wrap, Scarf
A crescent shaped shawl that uses stitch pattern and shaping to take advantage of mini-skein gradient kits. In combining short rows with multiple textures, the shawl creates a smooth blend between colours and an interesting asymmetrical shape.
Knitting: Scarf
Inspired by traditional Guernsey sweaters, this scarf showcases simple stitch patterns in columns that run it’s entire length. Cables and Seed Stitch run alongside a simple, yet effective repeating diamond, to make the most of one skein of sock yarn.
Knitting: Scarf
Just like the way that water changes the shoreline, carving out jagged edges and leaving behind holes, this scarf uses waving lace patterns to shift the smooth edge that lies beside a simple cable.
Knitting: Cowl
The architecture of bridges is most interesting from below. Toronto’s Bloor Viaduct is a three hinged concrete-steel arch bridge with a total span of 494 metres. The arches and wires create a beautiful set of angles that weave in and out of each other, in the same manner that many cable and lace patterns do.
Knitting: Fingerless Gloves
Twisted stitches wrapping back and forth in waves make for an interesting pair of cabled fingerless mitts, the perfect accessory for colder morning commutes. Knit in Nurtured, these mitts will only become more comfortable and cosy with each wear.
Knitting: Fingerless Gloves
There are many fine pleasures in a knitter’s life; from beautifully simple and rustic wool to the joy of easy knit and purl combinations. These mitts are destined to be a wardrobe staple for anyone who appreciates these little joys.
Knitting: Beanie, Toque
Diamonds are a classic way to embellish textiles, often found in weaving, knitting, embroidery and many more crafts. Paired with a classic wool that has minimal processing, this hat makes a timeless piece.

Knitting: Shawl / Wrap
An asymmetrical shawl that uses increases and decreases to bend it’s stripes which gradually grow wider. The shawl is started at one tip, then worked sideways until reaching it’s targeted width. Then a lace pattern is introduced to gradually taper it back down to only a few stitches. The main colour should be a speckle or variegated yarn that c...

The Urban Aran Mitts are quick and easy to make. The cable that travels on the bias eats away at the seed stitch texture, to reveal simple stockinette stitch. They are designed to fit loosely, so that they can be worn over thin gloves during colder months, or alone during warmer months.
Knitting: Scarf
Median is an oversized scarf, knit along its length. Short rows are used to create wedges that are simple to work, but cause the colours to taper in triangular shapes that oppose each other.
Even though your rows will start out very long, they quickly shorten and build up fabric easily.

Crochet: Doll
I may have a slight obsession with Robots. Naturally, when creating a pattern to teach the skills needed for Toy Making, a Robot would be the end result - but Rosie is definitely a special girl.

Knitting: Pullover
Earlier this fall, I was given an excellent opportunity to choose some yarn to design a sweater. With the impending cold weather, I began dreaming of a bulky sweater that could be worn outside on its own. I’ve often seen sweaters targeted at women that imply they are meant to look like you’re wearing you’re boyfriend’s sweater. They’re slightly...
Knitting: Shawl / Wrap
I’ve spent a lot of time down by the lake this summer, often late at night. What started off as a smaller style shawl to warm my own back, quickly became a much larger piece after realizing there was someone I wanted to share these late night shorelines with. Inspired by Gansey sweaters, this shawl uses only simple Knits and Purls, with occasio...

Knitting: Mittens
Due to popular demand, I’ve decided to release the pattern I use to teach thrumming and mitten making during the winter time.
Knitting: Cowl
This pattern is part of a two-piece collection I designed using one skein of Cascade Magnum. That single skein will make this cowl and a matching pair of fingerless mitts.
