ravelry sneak peek
"What the hell is Ravelry?"
Lots of people who are patiently waiting for invites are wondering
what all the fuss is about. We thought that a sneak peek might tide you over just a little bit.
I hope that this doesn't add too much fuel to the fire!
Before we get to all the cool screenshots,
let's start by clearing up a few misconceptions. -- casey
(oh - there are 3 pages of screenshots. Don't miss any - there is good stuff all the way through!)
Quick update:
You can find screenshots of newer features (such as Groups and a slick new pattern browser) on our blog.
We're going down the list and sending out lots of invites every day.
You don't need to be a blogger or a podcaster or any of that.
If you're fiber-obsessed, we want you in.
Don't tell Jess that she's Tom. Jess doesn't want to be Tom.
Yes - it's a community site, but Ravelry isn't just a place to hang out with friends. Even people who aren't interested in being social can get a lot out of Ravelry.
Oh, and music doesn't start up every time you turn the page.
Got a blog? Ravelry reads your blog and lets you tie posts to projects and patterns.
Blogless? We'll help you show off your projects and meet people.
Ravelry isn't a blog replacement. Keep posting!
You may have bumped into some of the 11,838 Ravelry stash photos on Flickr.
Don't look at us! We can't help it if people go slightly mad.
Ravelry is great for people who love organizing.
(all exciting at first, but then by the end, you're f'ing sick of them)
One Raveler called us "built to last" - and that's what we like to hear.
It's cheesy, but we built this site because we care.
There. Now here are some pics. They are a bit blurry from the shrinking (sorry) and there is more to show off but my screenshot finger got tired.
