This Shetland DK has a wonderful soft smooth handle, most definitely suited to shawls and other special knits. The Border Mill’s semi-worsted spinning really suits the ‘scary fine’ Shetland wool from Helendale Shetlands, Meadows Flock, Woodside Croft and Bogallan.

Three shades of Shetland in this batch:

  1. Cream
  2. Grey Heather
  3. Fawn Heather

Please note Cream is 190m/100g while Grey and Fawn are 170m/100g

Yarn origin
Source of fibre: Highlands, Scotland

Shetland wool has long been known as the finest in the British Isles and these local-to-me flocks are certainly carrying on that tradition.
