The Leicester Longwool is a large, long-wooled, and hardy sheep. We select the fleece carefully to obtain the finest lustrous fleeces most suitable for a soft knitting yarn and then worsted spin them to retain the softer handle.

This yarn is worsted spun to enhance its lustre and smooth out the rougher fibres. The result is a lovely dark grey with hints of brown and a soft yarn with drape which will still work up a dense fabric as the shorter fibres fill the gaps.
