It seems like spring can’t quite make up its mind this year, so the April Hat is the perfect accessory to your outfit. If it gets too chilly, pop it on your head. The slouchy drape of the April Hat makes it a chic addition to your ensemble, even when you’re not wearing your coat. When you get too warm, this hat folds up neatly, and you can tuck it away for the next chilly day.

The April Hat is worked in the round and, like the April Scarf, it uses the 3rd loop technique. If that sounds alien or intimidating, take a breath! I’ve included a photo tutorial to help you work your stitches in the 3rd loop. Once you figure out the first couple of stitches, this technique is a breeze, especially while working in the round. You’ll find that this hat works up quite quickly, and in no time at all, you’ll have the perfect slouchy beanie to accent all of your springtime outfits.
