This listing is for the pdf knitting pattern of the sleeveless Cowlneck Sweater ‘Artemis’ in Size XS/Small

Please read below notes carefully before you are buying this pattern.

Material & Gauge:

For size XS/S 12 oz of hand-spun yarn, circular needles US 10/11 (8 mm) - 350/400 yards

gauge: 3 sts and 3 rows = 1 inch over stockinette stitch

This pattern was designed with hand-spun yarn in mind.

Substitute with any commercial bulky/chunky yarn to match gauge (needle size)

In either case, I strongly encourage you to work up a SWATCH before you start knitting! Each hand-spun yarn is unique and individual and might not result in the desired outcome for this pattern.

Skills needed: cast on, knit, purl, cast off, pick up stitches for cowl, knitting in the round using circular needles, knitting flat using circular needles - if you wish and it is your preference, you can switch to double pointed needles to knit flat where required in this pattern, but in my 35+ years of knitting experience, the circular needles accommodate working flat quite well.

Difficulty level: Intermediate - challenging.

Larger sizes can be accommodated by casting on more stitches.

Alternatively you may adapt the pattern as is with the use of larger needles (and bulkier yarn) to create sizes medium & large.

Both options to create larger sizes of this garment require adequate skills in math to work out the gauge for your size, a sense of adventure and open-ess to be creative beyond a pattern and its written instructions.

Please convo me with any questions.

Happy Knitting :)
