Jun 21, 2018 Update: The full pattern for this shawl was uploaded today. If you only wish to download the full pattern, choose the v2.0 files (the Full Pattern file contains the directions and charts, the second PDF contains the written directions for the charts only).

The individual clues for the original Mystery KAL pattern are still available and will remain there for anyone who is still working on their clues.

♫ The Music ♫
Bantry Bay is a ballad about the joy at the safe return of the fishermen:
“As I’m sitting all alone in the gloaming,
It might have been but yesterday
That we watched the fisher sails all homing
Till the little herring fleet at anchor lay.
Then the fisher girls with baskets a swinging,
Came running down the old stone way.
Every lassie to her sailor lad was singing
A welcome to Bantry Bay.”

Céad míle fáilte ~ a hundred thousand welcomes!! Welcome to the southwest coast of Ireland and Bantry Bay.

Combining cables and lace into a beautiful seascape, the clues for the original mystery adventure combined the wonders of the sea and the air to weave a magical sailing adventure.

This shawl is knit flat, from the top down, beginning with a Garter tab. Only Chart A contains cables along with the lace patterns while the remainder of the shawl is worked in complementary lace patterns. The shape expands to slightly more than a semi-circle.

Both charts and written directions for charts are provided. Charts are contained in this document; written directions for charts are in a separate PDF supplement.
