This openwork poncho is great over your favorite dress or a tank and jeans. Solid and tonal colors will match up against fun patterns. Your favorite variegated yarn will pop over a black dress. The contrasting neckline made from a coordinating mini skein or some leftovers in your stash, provides a little structure and fun. Have fun pairing colors.

Crocheted in the round and using a repeating row pattern, this is great for experienced beginners and anyone looking to learn a new skill.

This pattern is One-Size-Fits most. Use gauge to get your desired fit, simply changing needle sizes and blocking have a significant effect on your size.

Fingering weight yarn, samples used merino/silk and merino/yak blends plus a coordinating mini skein. 1 skein for a shorter poncho, up to 1 and half needed for the full length version.

Please note: the original version of this poncho, the Bay Waves Summer Poncho was released as a gift pattern at the Wine Country Yarn Hop in July 2025. The changes include the sample yarn and photos, and some updates to the finished sizes based on new samples.
