This pattern is a variation of one originally designed by Kim Huhta for Crystal Palace’s Monterey cotton yarn. It’s been revised for Deco-Ribbon, which gives a very good texture and a firm practical bag. It’s very simple to make, a cylinder open on top, closed with a drawstring and finished either with a single wide strap or as a backpack with integrated drawstring. The Deco-Ribbon is a good firm yarn, lightweight and water-resistant, which makes it a good beach bag.

SonoranSweetheart say “This is one of my favorite base patterns and it seems you can get as creative as you want to with the bags. I’ve made about 10 of them and they are all different. I wasn’t sure where to find Deco-Ribbon yarn though, so my bags are all made with various colors of Red Heart.”
