~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Brigid’s Lie is a pair of classic dress gloves, elegant and functionally warm. They feature a central “spade” panel surrounded by a “web” and a side button closure. A classic ‘40s accessory, these are perfect for meeting with your private detective, lunch with the ladies, going to church or for your indictment appearance. The gloves are constructed in the round from wrist to fingertip.
I’m a fan of old movies and “The Maltese Falcon” is one of my favorites. Brigid O’Shaughnessy — femme fatale and damsel in distress all rolled into one — is the “dame,” playing both sides against the middle. Sam Spade, private detective, is only slightly smitten.
The lace pattern is both written and charted.
Originally published by The Sanguine Gryphon as Lizabeth Scott gloves.
