I LOVE PLAID! It’s so versatile, and it’s especially adorable for little baby rooms. Red buffalo plaid has been the theme for my son’s room and outfits, so I decided to create a plaid baby blanket to match.

This baby blanket is so easy, even a very beginner can make it. It uses dc and ch spaces to create a mesh fabric. Once the crocheting is done, you’ll weave strands of yarn through the mesh to create a fringed plaid blanket with such a soft drape, you’ll want to make one for yourself!

The Buffalo Plaid Baby Blanket is one of the March installments of the 2018 Sunshine Charlotte Crochet ALong, which features a different baby blanket pattern each month. This year’s CAL projects are meant to be donated to crochet charities. I’m featuring a different charity each month on my blog, but you can also donate to the charity of your choice. I design and donate these baby blankets in memory of my daughter Charlotte, who died of brain cancer in July 2015.
