Inspired by a wintry night-time walk in Cathedral
Grove on Vancouver Island, this slouchy hat features
a highly-contrasted motif of trees reaching up for
the starry sky.

The finished hat is 17½ (19¾, 21¾, 24)”/ 44.5 (50, 55,
61)cm around and 9¾ (10, 10½, 10¾ )”/ 25 (25.5, 27,
27.5)cm deep. To fit with approximately 2”/5cm
negative ease.

Materials:
Polka Dot Sheep Whitefish Worsted, 100%
Superwash Merino Wool, 218y/199m; 100g/3.5 oz.
½ skein each of Chief Cliff (MC), Fathom (CC1) and
Beargrass (CC2).

Tools:
US 7 (4.5mm) 16”/40cm circular and double pointed
needles or needle size necessary to obtain gauge.
US 6 (4mm) 16”/40cm circular, or size smaller than
gauge needle; stitch marker; tapestry needle,
pompom maker.

Gauge:
22 sts/24 rows over 4”/10cm in stranded
stockinette in the round, blocked.
